Well you may have to bight the bullet and knock on doors..so to speak. Another venue you can use is genealogy societies. There IS a Afro American Genealogy Society in Wash. DC, on line (AAHGS.org). A lot of the officer's and members are published author's in their own right and are very knowledgable about those little unknown 'goodies'. Join the membership and you will get quarterly newsletters either on line or by mail. I am not promoting 'plagarism'. You have to start some where for information. It may be a direction to start.
