Hello to all, took a break from research. But I'm still looking for a slave owner. Here's a little info on the person I'm researching my great-gt grandfather Alfred Prior b June 1841? in TN? d 10 Oct. 1921 in IL, he married during slavery and had to remarry again because of that. Enlisted in civil war 1863 at age 22, Alfred was discharged 25 feb. 1866 from pine bluff ark. After he we discharge there is a gap from 1866 to 1870 were I find him in Illinois. I have a copy of his pension package about 25 pages I can't even read, but anyway going through the pages again, and again I came across this, it reads as follows: Alfred was born abt 1844 at 3 miles S.E. of Grand Lake Ark. my question is can someone tell me something about this place and were this is, and if there were any slave owners in that area?
