Yes,Amos was possibly born in Texas in 1857. I apologize I did not choose my words wisely. Orter came to the United States when he was 12 along with his father whom we do not know his name.

Supposedly they were around about Texas in 1880 for sure because that is where I found Amos and his family.

They resided in Rusk,Panola area as per the census.
