ÊÊÊThe above URL has been updated. The Probate Case Index has had some
updating. Approximately 50 files previously listed as "missing" (quite a
few from 1816 and 1817) now have at least some partial records. "Missing" means
the originals probably no longer exist but hand written court copies were
made and the Madison County Records Center will eventually have access to these so
don't despair.

Marriage Indexes are underway in five more 5-year segments. Three
of these have beginnings online. As we progress forward in time, these
files get much larger in size and it will take volunteers a longer time to
complete. For example, 1940 - 1944 contains 15 volumes of marriages with over 600
marriages per book. Enjoy.
