AfriGeneas States Research Forum
[Southern] The Bob Simms Collection
I found a fascinating site that encompasses subjects of many of the AfriGeneas Forums. But since “The Bob Simms Collection: An Activist's Life and Legacy” links his life to Snow Hill and Tuskegee Alabama, and Florida, the AfriGeneas States Forum is the best place to present this on-line exhibition.
“The Bob Simms Collection: An Activist's Life and Legacy” was created by the University of Miami Libraries. It’s introduction reads:
“This exhibit offers a snapshot of the life and legacy of Robert H. Simms and an overview of some of the research resources available in his collection. The Bob Simms Collection contains photographs, documents, awards, and publications of personal and civic activities and events reflecting his life and legacy and documenting events of historical significance.”
By clicking through the photographs, you’ll find interesting family and social connections from the famous…Chappie James or the grandmother of Lionel Ritchie to the sweetest photographs of children from the George Washington Carver schools in the Miami area. All of the persons in the photos are named! Perhaps someone will be able to identify a relative.
Enjoy and celebrate the life of Bob Simms.
