Clarksville, Texas Aug 6, 1912 The body of Leonard Potts, the negro outlaw killed yesterday was kept upright in a coffin on an express truck until about 3 o'clock this morning when all doubt about his identity was removed.
Potts was nearly starved and had been lost in the river bottom when he appeared yesterday morning for food and direction at the house of Bud Tinnin, a negro Tinnin who turned an un alarm about Potts and who stood beside Armos Phillips when the latter killed the black man will receive a share of the reward.
IS POTTS STILL ALIVE??
Aug 6-SHeriff Little of Longview phoned here today that a negro answering the description of Leonard Potts shot another negro last night near Willow. The assistant was last reported as headed for Marshall.
