Some of the children were: Mary Lilly, John Henry, Daisy, Ruth and Walter Ray. Ray is still alive, but does not know anything about the family, so he says.

I understand she and my grandfather, Walter Mathis (sp) were cousins. He called her "Cousin Berta". I am trying to find rhe connection between the two.

My grandfather's mother was Laura Mathews b. 1875, Duplin County, N C. Died at about 30 years old. She had at least 3 sisters,Rhody, Matilda (Matt) and Betsy. I am wondering if who Bertha's mother was. Rhody and Matilda did not have any children. Both sisters raised my grandfather and his sister. Their mother died when they were 4 or 5 years old.

Can someone help me, Thanks. I really would appreciates any information I can get to connect our families.
