Not quite positive what you mean, but if you are looking for a specific land deed, chances are they are located at the state archives of N. C. in Raleigh. They have a cabinet (sort of like those old card catalog files libraries used to have) where they are indexed by name by grantor and grantee. I work in the building (another division). If you give me a name and date, I can do a quick look up on my lunch break to see if there is a card for that person. If there is a card, there is a record. If there is no card there, that doesn't mean there is no record, just means you'll have to do some digging. I can't offer to do in depth research at this point, but if I find a card, you can contact the archives and get a copy of the record yourself or hire a professional genealogist (the archives maintain a list of professional genealogists in the area) to get the record for you if you can't do it yourself.
