It seems that many/most of these UPSHAW's originated in Cartersville Georgia.

I am particularly interested in the one
Ed Upshaw who died in 1950 at age 109.
Must be a newspaper article or two on him. Perhaps you could give me a lead? Also anything you might help me understand the "why" of escaping Bartow County GA.
