There is a white overseer by the name of Dennis Brooks (spelled Rooks on another census) that lives nearby. I believe he works for John S. Deeson (spelled Duson on the 1860 slave census). I checked, and there is a 38-year-old male and a 35 year-old female slave on the list.

1880 Census
Bunches Bend, East Carroll, LA
I. Goodall is living with Gus Brooks (Kit and Annie's son)and family. He is listed as a widower and his occupation is field hand.

Margaret Brooks married Isaac Goodall on February 18, 1878 in East Carroll County.

Also found: Nathan Brooks's wife was named Martha. Nathan died in East Carroll parish on August 27, 1949 at the age of 77.
