THANKS for posting this. I used this Ohio Death Certificate database to identify a photo I inherited.

The photo is of R.A. and May Dickinson in Wilberforce, Ohio. It's posted it on the Precious Photos Forum http://www.afrigeneas.com/preciousphotos/photo104.htm

I looked for anyone who might be R.A. Dickinson in the Ohio Death Certificates in Greene County, Ohio and found Robert A. Dickinson, his mother, father sister and brother. I then found them In Xenia, Ohio (where Wilberforce is located) in the 1900 census. Using the census and the World War I and World War II draft cards, I was able to fairly surely place the photo in 1898-1900. Thanks for the heads up on the database!

On another note, anyone with Ohio roots should get a copy of the Ohio Genealogical Society's pamphlet: Ohio Records & Pioneer Families, volume XLVII 2007 number 4. This issue is devoted to African American families.

I was pleased to read the very interesting article that you wrote Art and I'm proud that the photos I submitted could share the issue with your article.
