Re: [NC] Death Certificates 1909-1975 online
In Response To: Re: [NC] Death Certificates 1909-1975 online ()
I would love to have Lenoir, Duplin, Wayne and Jones counties if they exist. The NC DCs gave me my GGG-Grandmother, Lucinda "Lucy" Foy/Foyes maiden name. By looking at the DCs of some of her children, "Hatch" is her maiden name but I can't find her origins. She is said to be Full Blooded Native AM, tribe or parents unknown and she was never enslaved. I am also trying to find my GGG-Grandparents marriage or cohabitation records if they exist. Maybe I can find which "Perry" families held Henry Foye in slavery. I originally looked at the 1860 slave schedule for a Male 50 years, a female 20 years and a child 1 or 2 years old, owned by a NC Perry family and had narrowed it to 2 Perry families. I'll have to rethink the variables of this search. The release of the NC DCs have been taking up most of my research time by filling in a lot of blanks and creating other "temporary" brick walls. I have a few dates that are about 10 to 15 years off between the death certificates and other historical records. Is it vanity or fact? "To be or not to be"...etc(smile)! It's no rush but I'd be glad to have them for research. I have plenty of other DC lookups I can do for now. Thanks!
