If you can get your hands on it, there is a good article by Jonathan Prown, "The Furniture of Thomas Day: A Reevaluation," in the journal Winterthur Portfolio, Volume 33 (Winter 1998), pages 215-229. It's more of a call for scholarship, but has some nice images and mentions other sources.
