Thank God for the Getting Started Forum!!!

I have a crazy/newbie question(please excuse my ignorance). I found my maternal grandmother's birth and death date at Familysearch.org. Now what I am supposed to do with this information??? Should I pay to obtain her birth certificate so that I can know the legal names of her parents??
