NOTICE

Taken up and committed to the jail of
Guilford Co. in Greensboro, NC, two
negro men, one of them Oct 11th 1863 who
calls himself ROWAN, and says he belongs
to Mr. Gilchrist, a trader of Lynchburg. VA.
Rather a bright black color, 5 ft 8 or 9 inches high,
with a small scar on the left arm at the wrist. 25 yrs old and
formerly owned by Hamam Crite of NC.
Also a boy LEMUEL, committed Oct. 17, 1863, who
says he belongs to Mr. Anthrom, a trader about Salisbury NC
and formerly owned by Mr. Emma Nigon; he is black, 5 feet high,
his upper front teeth out and one small scar on his nose, aged abt. 25 yrs
.The owner is requested to come for
ward, prove property, pay charges,and take him away, or
he will be dealt with as the law directs.
