Surrey Co, NC on the 1st day of Jan 1863,
a Negro Boy, who says his name is SYLVESTER
and belongs to John A. Barnes, of Campbell Co, VA
Said boy is about 18-20 yrs old about 5'3 or 4 inches
high, very black, stout built;and wears a cloth overcoat
The owner of said negro is hereby notified to come forward
prove property, pay charges and take said boy away, or
will be dealt with as the law directs.
