NOTICE.
WAS TAKEN UP AND COMMITTED TO THE
jail of Randolph County, North-Carolina, on the
9th day of October, 1862, a runaway slave, who says his
name is HENCE, and that he belongs to John Thomas
Mebane, of Bertie County, North-Carolina.
The said slave
is black, 5 feet; six inches high, and appears to be about
twenty-one years old. The owner is requested to come
forward, prove property, pay all charges, and take him
away, as he will be disposed of as the law directs.
