Re: [OK] Jake C. Simmons, Making of an African-Ame
In Response To: [OK] Jake C. Simmons, Making of an African-American Oil Dynasty ()
Hello, I don't know exactly what you mean by "old African Indian tale," but you are much mistaken about Jake Simmons, Jr. NOT being a descendant of Cow Tom. Jake C. Simmons, Jr. is the son of Rose (nee: Jefferson) and Jake Simmons, Sr.
This info. was well known among most of the "old heads," throughout Creek country (esp. those bet. Muskogee and Tulsa); plus those my elder cousins called, "straight-ears" (state born folk that migrated to IT during the land rush). The family is very old with pre-removal roots in the old Muskogee (AL) and Seminole (FL) homelands. Moreover, it's huge with familial ties among the Seminole and those that migrated to MX with Wildcat and John Horse. Anyway, this family is practically connected to every old African Native Creek family on the Dawes Rolls, incl. a battery of my forefolk. For anyone interested:
Hope this helps, Laurel
