[MO] BIRTH CERTIFICATES
I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here goes. I have been trying to get a copy of a birth certificate and military record for a deceased cousin from Missouri Vital records. In the past when I applied for a death certificate I was told the following information..."According to Mo. Law information from Vital Records can only be released to the registrant, a member of the registrant's family, or his/her legal representative'.
I actually found his death information on line for Veteran's, so I couldn't understand why a death certificate was denied without all this legal stuff. It gave his birth date, years in service and where he is now buried in Missouri. I believe this is one of the 1st time's I have applied for a birth certificate but for anyone in my family, but I have never had this problem with request from other states.
Can someone tell me exactly what type of legal proof I or his sister would need. His sister was not born with the same birth name and they did not have the same father.
About the military record, we know he was married to a lady in Germany, and had 2 children by her, during his military service, but we have no idea what her name, or gender of the children would be. I do know she may have remarried because, the one oppurtunity I had to speak to her, a man took the call and I could hear her speaking perfect English in the background, although the man said she couldn't. Oh, yes, the man was an american not German who spoke to me. So what do I do to get a military record that would give me names for his family during marriage in Germany. This was during the 1960's era.
His name was Vernon Milton Branch. Vernon died in a car accident on a visit in Missouri.
