Re: [CA] Los Angeles black newspaper
In Response To: Re: [CA] Los Angeles black newspaper ()
Dear forum, Forgot to tell you; I'm looking for a Dr. George Jackson who owned our (ex-) house starting around 1947 and then either passed it on to his son, Dr. George Jackson, or sold it to another Dr. George Jackson, unrelated (which we think, oddly enough, may be the case.) George and Jackson are VERY common names for that era. I've found two Dr. George's in the newspapers, one of whom was a founder of the Metropolitan Hospital on the corner of Western and 23 is it? When it was founded, in 1973, I think, it was called West Adams Hospital. If anybody had any info about that or knew of an organization--say a fraternity? I'm not sure--for doctors of color in that area, I would appreciate learning about it. Thanks for your help. You guys are lovely. Sally
