Dear Research Forum,
It's been a long time since I posted here. I'm still working on that novel about 100 years in a house in West Adams. I'm about half-way through, and liking it so far, but somebody tell me, why I was enough of an idiot to decide to write a novel about LA history, then move away?
Has anybody been to the Sentinel office or their archives? I have to write about somebody going for a first time to both places, and here I am stuck in Midwest with no budget to get back. I need a description of the place and the people, what it's like to walk into the joint and ask for help or what it's like to drive to wherever the heck their archives are located and look into them.
Do they loan stuff like the Eagle in Interlibrary loan or will Mr. Nordmann have to find someone willing to brave the LA Times History Department downtown to look things up on those rickety wind-up machines with the always broken printer? Good luck, Chris. I hope you find him.
