Re: [AL] Snow Hill Institute

It is gratifying to see all of the historical connections to famed Snow Hill Institute. I am the biographer of its founder,William James Edwards and chronicle the earliest years of the school in the book entitled "Fallen Prince: William James Edwards, Black Education and the Quest for Afro-American Nationality"
From the period of 1980 until 2005 Consuela Lee reopened Snow Hill Institute as the Springtree School for the Performing Arts.
Because of failing health this entity no longer exists. However, Ms Lee did get the school listed on the National Register of Historic Places. She also secured grant from the Alabama Historic Commission of $67,000.00 to assist in restoring the school. The Springtree board has transitioned into the Snow Hill Institute of Cultural Arts and History whose main task now is the restoration of the school. Donald Stone
