[SC] African American Experience
he African American experience in South Carolina
People with the commission say the African American experience largely began in South Carolina and that history needs to be saved. "If you look at it historically, we couldn't go no place else. We were confined to our community and the pillar of that community has been and still is the black church, and we want to regenerate the usage and the power of the black church," said South Carolina State Representative, Terry Alexander.
