Re: [NC] [TX] [AR]Amey From NC to Caddo Parrish LA?

Many citizens left Barbados back in the 1800s for North Carolina. In fact, I have been told that there is an area in NC that is very much like Barbados with similar street names and houses.

I have been researching my family tree and it seems like some of the Amey's of Barbados may have migrated to NC. All of my leads have come up blank so far. Perhaps, some of your history may indicate a previous link with the island of Barbados where slaves worked in the sugar cane fields for many years prior to becoming free.

There are some variations in the family name. AIMEY is one of them. I am now a Thompson (by marriage).
