I forgot to mention that PA was one of the first states to require that you prove who you say you are. Being that you are requesting a death certificate for your great uncle, you might not be able to obtain it since you are not his direct descendant. I requested death certificates for my greatgrandparents around 10 years ago and I had to certified that I was their greatgranddaughter. Also, they will charge you for a search if you don't know that date. I paid around $25.00 for my copy of the death certificate. Yes, I had to write to New Castle and my greatgrandparents were living in Fayette County at the time of their deaths which was around 1921. Linda
