I haven't check this out, but it came from the Genealogy program of the history dept at Wallace State Junior College, where the noted Dr. Robert Scott Davis (also professional genealogist, published for years) is on the faculty and runs the genealogy library there. He often takes researchers on trips to NARA in DC and other places in the northeast.

I have seen the following information from several sources. Last Friday
I was at the National Archives in Washington and found that the staff
had been so reduced, even with the reduction in hours, that it could
only barely function.
I was telling the ladies about this the other day. I couldn't remember
all the details so I thought I'd send this along for them.
NARA Proposes New and Much Higher Mail-Order Rates
The following rate hikes are being proposed by the National Archives:
(1) Passenger arrival lists - NATF Form 81 - $25.00
(2) Federal Census requests - NATF Form 82 - 25.00
(3) Eastern Cherokee applications to the Court of Claims - NATF Form 83
(4) Land entry records - NATF Form 84 - 40.00
(5) Full pension file more than 75 years old (Civil War period) - NATF
Form 85 - 125.00
(6) Full pension file more than 75 years old (non-Civil War) - NATF Form
85 - 60.00
(7) Pension documents packet (selected records) - NATF Form 85 - 25.00
(8) Bounty land warrant application files - NATF Form 85 - 25.00
(9) Military service files more than 75 years old - NATF Form 86 - 25.00
