() I have lived in Coatesville all my life and grew up with blacks, puerto ricans and who knows how many races. getting along with everyone. I was hunting across from the old Coatesville hospital where I was born. Being that my parents were from Scranton, Pa they knew little of the racial strife that existed in this town. Anyway, I bagged a nice buck and in telling friends about it, they told me I had bagged the Deer on "Nixxer's Man's Hill", I found the tale hard to believe. In time in talking with generations of people that had been in the city for decades the story of Z.Walker was finally told. I heard it from a person who was there and it was gruesome! Hard, to believe in a town where I see a great rapport among the races that this tradgedy did happen. Hopefully, that era is fading faster and faster into the past. There is now a memorial along the higway on east side of rte 82 just past the substation.
