Let me make sure I clarify. They have the obituaries on microfilm with a searchable database for some of newspapers online; for example they have microfilm of the newspaper for Barnesville, Ohio (Belmont County) during the late 1800s. The online feature also allows for searching death certificates at least up to the 1940s. I found a few for my family.
