Genealogists offer classes

The Hemet-San Jacinto Genealogy Society offers free classes at the Hemet Public Library on the second and fourth Tuesday each month. Classes are from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the conference room. The next class is scheduled for Oct. 10 and will cover “Secrets of Census Research.”
Upcoming classes will include: Oct. 24, “Land and Probate Records”; Nov. 14, “Find It! File It! (Organizing, Numbering, Record Keeping)”; Nov. 28, “Genealogy Software”; and Dec. 12, “The Gift of Genealogy (Creative Ways to Share Your Genealogy Treasures)”.
There will be no class Dec. 26. Classes in the new year will include: Jan. 9, “Military Records”; Jan. 23, “Patronymic Naming Patterns”; Feb. 13, “Indian Removal and Western Migrations”; and Feb. 27, “Immigration and Passenger Lists.”
