Re: [PA] Lynching of Z. Walker (Without Santuary)
In Response To: Re: [PA] Lynching of Z. Walker (Without Santuary) ()
I read the article and yes, there is a certain mindset that's difficult to erase.
Based on the news articles that I've read in the Bucks County Courier Times while doing transrcriptions, the securty guard and Mr. Walker were both placed in a position of defending themselves. Then it became a matter of "who got their shot off first"--Mr. Walker did. This was something out of the wild, wild west!
It seems that some of the comments to this article seem to imply that Mr. Walker "intentionally" shot the guard and no thought has been given to memorialize the man who was killed because he had a family.
The brutality and injustificaton of the crime speaks for itself. I have no problem in supporting the efforts of the Coatsville community to memoralize such a tragedy that echoed not only in this nation but world wide.
Since I live in PA and if it's God's will, I will try to make it to this memorial in 2011. Only 2 people attended the memorial commemorating the one year anniversary.
