Re: [AR] Hempstead + Lafayette Cntys
In Response To: [AR] Hempstead + Lafayette Cntys ()
Is it possible that your Jones or Williams line could have had connections with Sevier County, AR since Sevier was formed from Hempstead? Some of my family left Sevier and moved to Little River; Hemptead and later Howard counties. I have from the Freedmen's Bureau Roll--Board; Clothing and Medical Attention given to the newly freed slaves in 1865. The former slaves are listed by first name and the former owner/responsible party is listed by first and last name. A.B. Jones: Frank and Elizabeth 8/1/1865 H.T. Jones: Sarah and Lucy 8/10/1865 B.F. Jones: Jordan 8/10/1865 Rebecca Williams: Violet, Ellen, and Harriet 8/11/1865 Sally J. Williams: Jim, Wes, Bill, Rittsa(?), Sarah, Clarissa, Milly, Susan, Martha, Darcas, and Ann 8/25/1865 I don't know if this will help or not. If you run across Sol Brooks or the Harpol (Harpole) family in Lafayette let me know. Thanks,
