A group of concerned citizens ascended on a true piece of African American history recently. Numerous citizens showed up to support to Jeff and Shirley Supik for their efforts to save a piece of African-American history.

African Americans throughout the metropolitan area of Baltimore should show their support because the property that the Supiks are trying to save is believed to be the only documented safehouse during the slavery era in this area of Baltimore County.

The house in question is located in the 3500 block of North Rolling Road, and was the haven for some of the runaway slaves as they made their way through this area, trying to get to Pennsylvania and to freedom.
