Re: [AR] obit of Leona Butler from Holly Grove, AR

I found this at the Arkansas History Commission (history archives) in downtown Little Rock (behind the state capitol). This particular obit was actually in a newspaper from a neighboring county to Helena. The History Commission has old newspapers on microfilm from all over the state (as well as a large variety of information from all over Arkansas). I know for a fact, they have an excellent selection of old newspapers from Helena - far more and in much better condition than the ones from Monroe County. They are a literal goldmine of information (or at least I think so) for African-American researchers because they have quite a few of them that date to before the Civil War. These old newspapers often ran runaway slave ads, published wills that included lists of slave names, and information about the selling of slaves in the area, as well as other miscellaneous information.
