I'm starting by researching the eight slave owners named Scott on
the 1850 Slave Schedules and the nine slave owners named Scott on
the 1860 Slave Schedules for Jefferson County, MS. Three of them appear
on both censuses and several of them are listed in the same household on
the regular censuses for those years. One lives in Warren County and appears
to be an absentee owner in other places. Their papers etc. might give me a lead.
This will also add to my research experiences. What do you think?
