I'm not sure, but I didn't find her listed in the census before 1870. I would assume she was probably a slave, but you never know. She might have been living with another freed person. You would probably need to search through the county records, deeds, etc., to see if there is any mention of a Cynthia/Syntha Righter or Lee.

Have you ever been to a Family History Center? They are run by the Mormon Church. To find one near you visit www.familysearch.org They allow visitors, for a few dollars, to rent microfilmed copies of deeds and vital records from all over the country. Most family history centers have a microfilm viewer and printer.

I've updated that GEDCOM I posted to included the children of Eugene's great-uncles and aunts and some death dates I found using SSDI.
