Don't be put off by all the discrepancies over Eugene's year of birth. If my own research has taught me anything it's that even official records aren't always correct. If he was born in 1914 or 1915 he would have been under 21 when your grandfather was born. Perhaps he felt he needed to say he was of legal age?
