Re: Augusta Cox's Death Certificate
In Response To: Augusta Cox's Death Certificate ()
Lee, this research is really excellent! This is great! I am so happy to learn that I have many branches on my paternal grandfather's side. I am beginning to think that this Eugene Wilford Cox (b. either 1911 or 1912) was my paternal great-grandfather. When I looked at my grandfather's birth certificate from 1934, his father's age was 21 by February of the year, but his birthday was in October, so he must have turned 22 by then.
Through Hugh and Augusta's lines, it is astonishing to learn that they had large famiiies in the African-American community and that it seemed that their descendants never really left West Virginia. It would have been like the Great Migration of the 1910s and 1920s did not faze these people.
This is truly great!
