from what i understand, my grandfather (Granville Hosea Ramsour) was adopted by the Ramsour family at the turn of the century in Smith, County Texas. My Father, (James Michael Ramsour) i do not know of, other than he lives in Greenville, Texas. We are white people and i have ben aware for many years of our Afican American bothers and sisters in East, Texas. The Ramsour name has a history in North and South Carolina. The battle of Ramsour Mill was fought during the battle for independance and there was a General Ramsour who prodicted his own death during the cival war. I would love to have more information on the Smith County Ramsour's.
