I'm doing research for the small town of Holly Grove in Monroe Co., AR and I've come across a couple of obits/death notices. This is the first one....I hope this helpful to someone somewhere.

Holly Grove News
The greatest crowd of this season among the colored people was occasioned last Sunday by the funeral and burial of Dr. S.A. Dingwall, a colored physician who had reached a higher point in medical ability than any colored doctor of whom I have ever known anything. He came here from the West Indies Islands. He had by his success as a practitioner, accumulated a good lot of money. He died at Colorado Springs where he had gone hoping to be rescued from the dreaded monster, consumption. He was brought to H.G. where he was buried by the colored Masonic Fraternity at the New Hope cemetery. The procession was the largest ever witnessed in the history of Holly Grove.
