Am looking for infomation found on census records of g-grandfather and g-grandmother they list themselves as being born in Hampton County Cape Charles VA. Have been unable to find either the county or Cape Charles. Since they were both run away slaves the locations might not be correct???? Also has anyone ever heard about slave being given as part of a wedding dowery?? Where could I find more info on this???
