Hi, my name is Andrea Moultrie. I'm not from South Carolina though - I'm from The Bahamas. There are quite a few Moultries here, but it's not a very common surname and I've always wondered where it originated. I knew there was a link between South Carolina and The Bahamas, and I'm actually really excited to see that there are some other Moultries outside of The Bahamas in South Carolina -- maybe we're all related... I would really, really be interested in knowing where the surname first came from - whether it was given to slaves in South Carolina and what country those slave masters came from...
