Haven't yet seen any Gaylords, but in 1910 in Columbus County, NC (Lees Twp) I did see Minnie REAVES with husband Joseph. Do you have that information? Just in case, I'll post:

REAVES, Joseph R. 26 married for 7 years born in SC as well as his parents. Worked as a laborer and was renting a house.

REAVES, Minnie 25 married 7 years. Had given birth to three children and all three were living. Born in NC with parents place of birth listed as "Un". In 1920, Minnie is listed as 37 years old, but the names of the children are the same and she is in the same area.

REAVES, James A. 6 born in NC
------, Hurbert [sic] 4 born in NC
------, Quincey 1 7/12 born in NC
