I have genealogical information about a woman named Abby Shaw of Springfield, Massachusetts. In the 1820s she was slave to a woman named Shaw. The slave's name was "Abu" -- possibly a Moslem name. I want to give the information to someone who thinks her (his) family is descended from Abu Shaw. By 1870 her name was changed on the census to "Abby."
