I'm getting indications of the expected - horrific treatment of blacks in SC with possible KKK activity in the Sumter area; more opportunities to purchase land in FL. In fact, my folks that migrated to Gainesville are shown as owning their homes/farms by 1910. I'm hope to obtain access to any local papers of that era to see what was going on that may have enticed the migration.
