[GA] Hurricane Katrina---thank you GA
I give praise and thank God every day for my family…
Like many, both maternal and paternal sides (30% and 75%) of our family lived in New Orleans and the Gulf coast of Mississippi, over 95% are accounted for… displaced but alive, we are blessed.
I would like your permission to post your comments at my genealogy family’s website Afrigeneas (Afrigeneas.com), one of the wonderful genealogy Angels may have a lead on apartments in the Decatur/Stone Mountain/Lithonia area. Also, it will let the ones from Georgia
Love you guys …Pat
"Permission not needed at all-go right ahead"
"We’re in the Decatur/Stone Mountain/Lithonia area of Atlanta, Georgia-The people in this area have really been showing love for Katrina victims-once they spot Louisiana tags people have been pulling next to us at stoplights, leaving notes on windshield, and approaching us in parking lots just to ask if were ok and if anything is needed-some offered places to stay, cash, and even prayed on the spot-I can't believe how nice the people of Georgia have been, seems like the churches here have united and have given us clothes and a supply of baby pampers, gas cards & Wal-Mart vouchers but we're still in need of baby clothes (all in ones, shorts, jeans, long sleeved and short sleeved t-shirts) we only need a few baby clothes as she grows out of everything within a few months-shoes are not needed at this time. Size 18-24 months -girl. As of now we are staying at a hotel with the 14 day FEMA/Red Cross voucher-when voucher expires we were told it can be extended as long as needed but we are looking for an apartment of our own until our home is repaired and we can return back to New Orleans".
