The day will begin with a concert of Civil War era music. In the afternoon, a National Park Service interpreter will speak on the life of John Brown. Representatives from the Jefferson County (WVA) Black History Preservation Society will present their work documenting the African-American
Raiders who participated in the Raid. The Jefferson County Black History Preservation Society recently published The Capture, Trial and Execution of John A. Copeland, Jr. and Shields Green.
