I hope the death record will provide you with the info you need. If you don't get the info you need, you may try to see if she had a social security number and write off for the application. The Death record will speak of how much the informant knew about your mother. The SS application will probably tell the better story.

Let me know how this turns out and I see you a Moultrie descendent. So am I. I do have relatives in Georgia (Macon I believe), but I have never met them and they certainly would not know me. My Moultries date back to South Carolina in the very early 1800s before coming to Alabama via slavery. Relatives (whom I do not know) currently live in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and New York.
