Millsaps College again will be offering two courses of interest to genealogists and family researchers as part of its fall Community Enrichment Series. Active since 1972, this popular series offers noncredit evening courses which have no prerequisites and no examinations. Considering enrolling just for the sheer delight of brushing up on skills and learning something new. Anne L. Webster, with the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, will be teaching her ever-popular Hands-On Genealogy course. The sessions will cover basic sources (census data, death records, newspapers, etc.), county records and military records (both Civil War and WW I), and research techniques. Classes will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. on Mondays from Sept. 19 through Oct. 1. The fee for the series is $75. The second class, Preserving Family Photographs, will be taught by Elaine Owens. This class will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Sept. 20 to Oct. 11. The fee is $85. For details, call (601) 974-1130 or visit www.millsaps.edu/adltlrn/enrichment/classes.shtml.
