Livingston County Genealogy Society disbands

The Livingston County Genealogy Society has announced that it will disband after nearly 20 years of meeting and assisting persons in finding family ancestry.

According to Freda Dickson, president of the society, although the actual Genealogy Society will not meet on a regular basis anymore, its members can still assist interested parties with genealogy information. The Livingston County Library will accept genealogy inquiries and then refer interested individuals to the society's members.

Dickson reported that the Livingston County Genealogy Society began in 1986 or 1987 and was designed for researchers to assist each other in searching for family history. . .. . .
