I am searching for info regarding the family of William Douglas(s) who was living in Erie, Pa as of the 1870 census records. William was married to Ada Wright, they had a daughter Edith who was born in Erie. While living in Erie, Ada's mother and sister lived with them. William is listed as a hairdresser.

Does anyone know how I may obtain copies of birth, marriage, property records from that time. please contact me. I also would like to obtain records of his civil war service.

They later moved to Iowa, then to Kansas. Two son's were born in Iowa.
William was able to obtain 3 patients for farm equipment in the late 1890's early 1900's. I have copies of those records

Is anyone doing research on Afro-American history in Erie and or Iowa during 1870's? I would love to talk with you regarding your research.
